The Adventure Continues

The day started off with a sad death. One of my most favorite norns passed away from unknown causes. I'm most likely suspecting anorexia. So many norns in the world become distracted or obsessed with other things and neglect their hunger, or they simply forget how to eat! "No, looking at the food does not mean you are eating it..". Aldoril lived an average lifespan which is long enough to experience many things and have many good chances to pass his genetics on through offspring so i'm not too torn up about it. Rest in peace Aldoril!
Meanwhile in the desert Andil and his buddy continue to enjoy the sunflower seeds and bongo drums beneath the dead tree, even while an unusual cold front dips the temperature cold enough to create snow! I never thought the temperature in a desert would dip in to the teens, is this normal?

I returned to the tree house to watch over the norns there and make sure nobody was getting into any trouble when I spotted trouble indeed! They had filled the lift to it's capacity! I couldn't help but chuckle at how it looked with everyone crammed in there, there was no room left for anyone to move! A couple norns didn't like it at all and you can see it in their cute sad faces. The lift was so packed that norns were hanging out both sides! They rode it up and down a couple of times before I stopped them and split them up. Sharing is good, but sometimes you can share too much!

Anruin remains in the scaffoldings above the swamp and i'm not sure if he knows how to get down. I showed him the lift and asked him to use it a couple of times. Once he pushed the lift and was carried by it down to the next lowest level. I cheered happily when he had followed my instructions! But after a few seconds of looking around he just rode the lift right back up to the very top. It's apparent Anruin isn't happy up there, yet he insists on staying. I'm not one to force my norns to do what they don't want to (most of the time) so I just let him be. He has a full pot of honey with him so he won't starve, and he likes it very much! He's always sipping on it. I make sure to check on him once in a while to see if the pot needs refilling.
I watched Arethan explore a little bit in the tubes decorating the treehouse. He likes to look at the flowers that produce the fruits there. So far he hasn't strayed beyond the tubes. Arethan prefers to play it safe and stay close to home.

A little while later I found him sitting in a high up area of the treehouse looking out accross the waterfall. He was expressing a very far away look in his face as he was dreaming of other things. I had to wonder where his mind was taking him. Perhaps dreaming of far off lands? Or maybe of having the courage to travel to those far off lands? Maybe he was wondering where Andil and his friend are.

  1. Excellent story! I read this post a few days ago and meant to comment then. I'm glad that the majority of the entry was positive, although a death every now and then is inevitable. If only the Norns would decide to eat some more! I had a good laugh over the lift scene, and it's awesome to see that a lot of your creatures have decided to explore the world a little more. I love seeing the different environments!

  2. Thank you. I did try the lift agent that prevents such things from happening but it wouldn't work in my world because if I remember right, it's meant for C3, which i'm not currently using.
